National Library Board Book Donation Points

The CEO of National Library Board, Dr. N. Varaprasad has been very supportive of our project. He has allowed us to use public spaces in NLB libraries to set up book donation points. Christine, his Secretary called me up early in the morning to break the good news!!!

Many thanks to Mdm Fatimah, the Senior Manager from Public Libraries Group, and the heads of the regional libraries for taking the time to meet up with us to discuss about the setting up of Book Donation Points. They have been very supportive and accommodating to our requests, and providing us with additional help to solve our logistic problems.

SpeedPost Boxes

SingPost has gladly agreed to sponsor 30 Speedpost boxes to be placed at our Book Donation Points at National Library Board libraries, Churches as well as other locations. Thank you Candice and Ying Duan at SingPost Corporate Communication for the fast response. That has saved us lots of trouble with decoration and finding proper boxes because it's a nice big box.

We Are...

A bunch of students from all over NUS, going to Laos on a community service project, to help build a library for a Secondary School in Nong Duang Village, Vientiane.

Hwang Samut Mittaphaap - that's the name of the project aka Singapore Friendship Library in English.

Together with our peers from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, ITE College East, NAFA and Singapore Buddhist Lodge, we're actually the last team to go! We're helping to establish a Library Management System and hoping that through this, the 700+ children at the school will have access to a wider range of reading materials and a more conducive environment to study in. Hopefully the library will help in giving the children a good education!

Please do help us out by donating some of your books or buying our team tshirt!
